Sophisticated Apartment in Florence
Our apartment is located in an authentic residential area of the city away from the tourist zone. The historic centre (designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982) is an easy 25 min walk away. In 2021, the designation was extended to include the nearby landmarks of San Miniato al Monte, the neighboring church of San Salvatore al Monte, Le Rampe, Piazzale Michelangelo plus the Iris and the Rose Gardens.
The daily walk to San Mineato al Monte is a favourite of ours. The neighbourhood is well serviced by public transport and within a short walk there are restaurants and by small businesses of all descriptions.
Location & History
Florence Design Apartment is situated on the first floor of a residential building of nine apartments located in a very safe, leafy neighbourhood outside Florence’s busy historic centre. The apartment was newly constructed in 2013 and the fit out and furnishings done in consultation with Grilli Interior Design (http://www.grilliarredamenti.it/). It is well equipped with quality materials, contemporary, and spacious. The location offers easy walking access to the historic centre as well as proximity to the Chianti countryside. (While the apartment is very spacious, only two guests may stay overnight.)
Welcome
Welcome to our home! Following many trips to Tuscany from our home in Canada and, subsequently, Australia in 2013 we purchased and planned the fit-out of what is now our home in Florence. When we are not in Florence our apartment is available for rental by discerning travellers looking for short stay accommodation in the city. We do not advertise widely and not at all on the high-volume booking websites.
We have furnished and equipped our home to a high standard both aesthetically and with respect to comfort. In the time since we became owners, we’ve had many opportunities to communicate directly with guests to share our knowledge of the city and the of Tuscany. This has been one of the most rewarding aspects of our ownership experience.
