The Apartment

When we are not in Florence, we offer our home for rental. The large living area is comprised of an open kitchen and living room with a separate dining room. There are two marble tiled bathrooms, each with a shower, toilet, bidet and sink. The apartment is new, contemporary and, at 800 sq. ft. is very spacious for a couple. Two exceptional features are the abundance of natural light provided by the many windows and the unique off-white tile flooring, a specialty of the architect.

All rooms except the second bathroom have large windows to the outside. The centerpiece of the courtyard below is a magnificent magnolia tree which can almost be touched from the bedroom window. The River Arno is 200m from the door and the wide streets and mature trees provide a marked contrast to the city centre.

Accessibility

From the apartment, walking times to the most visited historic sites are: Ponte Vecchio 25 min, Uffizi Gallery 25 min, Piazza Della Signora 24 min, Piazza Santa Croce 19 min, The Duomo 29 min, Boboli Gardens 28 min. A taxi stand is located a few minutes away near Hotel David. Bus stops for transit buses (Autolinee Toscane) to go to the above locations & the train station are within 100m of the front gate. Buses (BusItalia) to destinations such as Greve-in-Chianti and Panzano and Siena are equally close.

The Tuscan countryside is especially beautiful and easily accessible for guests with a car. For those without a car (or those with a car but prefer to view the countryside instead of the road ahead) contact Ray for information about a private tour for two in a luxury vehicle. These are conducted by our long time friend Simone. His tours range from 5-8 hours in length with the most popular taking in the towns of San Gimignano & Siena and with lunch or a visit to a winery.
